THE CHALLENGE
The company had noticed a decline in the calibre of students applying for optometry-related degree courses. Specsavers wanted to raise awareness of the profession, and its benefits, to the brightest and best school-age students about to choose their options.
THE CO-DEVELOPED SOLUTION
After researching awareness levels among current students, the team developed a concertina-style booklet that presented young, inspiring optometrists in contexts to which the students could relate. It was accompanied by an interactive website, with greater detail about getting involved in optometry. More than 700 stores nationwide are now using the materials in presentations to schoolchildren, with staff directly involved.
