THE CHALLENGE

Yorkshire Water’s in-house magazine, Connections, was losing its way, getting bogged down in ‘human interest’ stories rather than being driven by genuine colleague engagement linked to the company’s vision and values.

Words&Pictures’ writers, project managers and designers attended inductions, met scores of YW colleagues and held a series of brand-awareness sessions. Such early set-up work proved to be mutually beneficial, giving a much clearer sense of direction for what was to become an award-winning publication, admired by, and useful for team members throughout the utility.
